Michael Moore dropped 30 pounds in three months by changing his diet, getting more sleep, hiring a personal trainer and walking 10000 steps a day.
Author, Film maker and Political Activist Michael Moore is about to release his newest project “Sicko“, a movie about the United States health care system and released 30 pounds prior to doing so. Sicko opens June 29th in theaters everywhere, but it’s been seen by many in pre-release screenings around the US. All of them 100% sold out.
Michael Moore got himself a trainer and began to eat oatmeal in the morning. He switched from white breads and pasta to whole grains and has committed to sleeping at least 7 to 8 hours per night. Michael says it’s made all the difference.
Mr Moore also began daily walking, doing the 10,000 steps a day program. He says that with all the lifestyle changes, diet, training, sleep and walking more has brought down his blood pressure, his cholesterol and blood sugar levels to normal.
Michael Moore told Oprah that the one thing the overweight / obese people have in common is that they don’t sleep enough. Makes sense I guess, sleep more, eat less? I’m actually for the opposite. Sleep a bit less gives you more time to eat the 5 or 6 meals a day that you need to burn fat as well as the fact that more time awake means more time burning calories. That’s not to say an afternoon nap isn’t a bad idea either. I’ll have to look at some more research about this.
I’ve seen all Michael’s movies and love them all. When I was in Europe last fall, I bought “Dude, Where’s My Country?” and read it while traveling from Vienna to Prague and back.
I’ll be going to Sicko when it hits theaters in Edmonton. Whether you agree with his politics or not, there’s just something about his way of speaking the truth and getting others to do the same. Good on ya Mike!
