The Law Of Attraction For Weight Loss

We think about what we should do, we read about how to do it, we surf the internet for others who are doing it and we talk about it in forums looking for answers and support.

My mentor T. Harv Eker has a saying “Ready…. Fire …. Aim”

His point is to get off your ass and get doing it, then make the corrections as you go along the journey. We spend so much time learning about what to do and getting ready to do it rather than just taking action.

There is so much power in that one little decision, to do something and to do it now.

You should not let another day go by without taking action. You know what to do, and even if you don’t, or you’re not sure, get off your ass and get doing it. This may apply to just about anything. Picking up the phone to call someone that you’ve been meaning to call or asking out that girl or guy you’re interested in, or finally doing the taxes, or in this specific situation, doing something about your weight or physique.

There is so much power in making the decision to take action.

Johan Wolfgang Von Goethe, 1749-1832, Poet, Lawyer, Playwright said:

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness, concerning all acts of initiative (and creation). There is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can,…. begin it! Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.BEGIN NOW!

Taking action opens the doors and opens the floodgates. It’s like telling the Universe that “I’m Serious”. “I’m doing this and nothing is going to stop me”… ” even if I don’t know how this is going to happen or how it’s going to work… I trust that it will and the knowledge, information and people I require to make it work will find me”

It’s very similar in concept to what we’ve seen on “The Secret” about the Law of Attraction. Wallace D. Wattles first started talking about this concept of Attracting what you want into your life back in the early 1900’s and then Napoleon Hill wrote about it in the 1950’s in his book “Think and Grow Rich“. Now with “The Secret“, we’ve come to know the name Joe Vitale, James Ray, Jack Canfield and Bob Proctor. These men have been around for a long time using the Law of Attraction for various purposes, but mostly to improve the quality of their lives. Bob’s famous technique is using this formula. Get a small index card and write on it “I am so happy and grateful now that ….” and fill in the blank. Write a few, use both sides of the card. Write it in present tense as if it were true. Read this each morning when you wake up and each night before you go to bed, even if you don’t believe it. Read it as often as you like.. the more the better. Keep talking to yourself and telling yourself that it’s true until you KNOW it’s true.

See, our minds don’t know the difference between what’s real and what isn’t. Weird eh? So as easily as we can talk ourselves out of something, we can just as easily talk ourselves into something. Tell yourself that it’s true and tell yourself that you’re grateful for it right now. Just keep doing it and then trust. Trust that the Universe will line up the people, places, things, opportunities or information that you need to achieve what it is that you want.Your only job is to recognize the opportunity when it arrives and then JUMP!

In December of 2004, I was sub-contracting as IT support for various clients in my city. Things started to get slow because we did such a good job. We told our clients that if they listened to our advice, their computers and servers would be running stable and they’re be less need for us to support them. It worked, and we began to spend less and less time at their offices. So each day, I’d wake up to find that I had nothing to do. Well.. nothing to do meant I couldn’t bill them either and I needed to have more income from other sources. I’d say to myself each morning “What can I do to make money today”. I had been playing with Internet Marketing for a few years and I thought that I could do better. I began to do more of what I was already doing to reach a wider audience. At the same time, I decided to get as low body fat as possible which led me to Tom Venuto’s Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program. I got the book and applied the principles on a daily basis. The fat I was carrying began to drop off faster and faster. I had been to Tom’s website once. That was it. I bought the book and took action. That was it. Well, wasn’t I surprised when Tom Venuto called me. He actually phoned me out of the blue. Well holy shit! He asked my permission to include a product of mine, my Bill Pearl interview as part of a bonus for a new product he and Jon Benson were doing called Fit over 40 about Role Models for Excellence. Hmmmmm…. a chance to participate with one of the internet’s greatest Fat Loss Minds and Mentors. It took me about 30 seconds to think about it. I of course agreed and the rest is history. I launched my Fat Loss Insider Secrets, became better know as a talk show host and was opened up to so many more resources. Oh.. and I was able to get as low as 8% body fat using Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. Read my review and results of Burn the Fat.

Did I expect this to happen? of course. I didn’t know who, or how and it didn’t matter. I just said to myself “What can I do to make money today” and then universe came up with a solution. I am one of a few people that has Tom’s private phone number and can just call him up. We still work on various projects together and I consider him a good friend.

Harv Eker has a saying “Expect Miracles”. Well… expect them.

This technique is taught by Bob Proctor and Jack Canfield in their new “The Science Of Getting Rich“, but it can be applied to anything in your life.

“I am so happy and grateful now that I am 6 percent body fat”

“I am so happy and grateful now that I spent time every day exercising”

“I am so happy and grateful now that I have achieved a healthy and lean body”

“I am so happy and grateful now that I wear a size 6 dress” (er.. you, not me)

I can get caught up in this as well, so I know what I’m talking about. However, it’s that little voice I hear from my Warrior Camp days when I was yelling at the top of my lungs “I am a Warrior, I get Ready, I fire and then I aim”.

So what’s your deal? What’s stopping you? What is it that you keep saying that you’re going to do but don’t do? What exactly DO YOU NEED TO KNOW that’s so important that you can’t possibly get started?

I heard about this 10000 steps a day walking program from my sister. I went out and got a Pedometer and started walking again. It’s a nice break from the Cybex ArcTrainer as I get out into the fresh air, see the sights and even found a lost dog because of it.

“I am so happy and grateful now that I am walking every day”

Have I perfected it and do I go every day? Actually no. Life still gets in the way and as much as I know I want to and should, I have not gone out for that walk every day. I still wear my pedometer and I still record how many steps I’m doing every day as I committed to doing it and every day, I know I’ll get back at it because I know it makes me feel so good. I record my weekly (and sometimes daily) step counts in the weight loss forum.

So what’s stopping you? I don’t want an answer actually. I do however want to know what you’ve been putting off that you’re going to start tomorrow, or even tonight, or later in the day – whenever you’re reading this.

Leave a comment. Be anonymous if you like. But leave a comment and tell me one thing that you’re “getting ready to do” but haven’t taken action on yet. Do not leave an excuse as to why….. don’t justify it. Just leave a comment with “What I’ve been putting off is…..” and then finish it with “… and I’m going to begin …..”
