Youre Only Human

Anytime you try to do something new, you’re guaranteed to stumble along the way and it’s a part of the learning process. Realize that part of being human means that we’re not perfect and remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing. Learn to recognize your triggers and then put together a plan to beat them. Knowing what leads you to over eat is the first step in overcoming it.

Discover what is preventing you from eating well or from staying on plan. Remember, eating well for many of us isn’t something that we learn as a child or even as an adult. For some of us, it came later in life. The paths you choose will teach you more about yourself then you realize. Learn from each mistake and move forward.

Our Mothers watched us tumble and fall before we took our first steps alone. Tears came and frustration. Why would now be any different? Dust yourself off and get back to it!

Take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Where do I want to be?”

Being Human Means Not Having To Be Perfect

I was talking with Rob about my not so perfect eating habits lately and he asked me,

Would it be ok if you don’t eat perfect all the time?


I hesitated and said yes.

I reflect on what was said during that conversation. I was continually beating myself up over making mistakes instead of recognizing my errors and taking action. It was easier to throw in the towel and fall back into poor eating habits that felt comfortable then to once again get ‘back in the saddle’ which means work. I have now realized that eating healthy will contribute to the results I am looking for and yes, hard work.

Words that I have been hearing a lot recently. I would time it at around 2 months.
I had heard the movie mentioned at work, on the subway, my grandmother was talking to my aunt about it. And now forum members are talking about it.

What is all the fuss about here….

I searched the internet for anything “The Secret” related. I downloaded the audio book to my MP3 player. I listened to it for 4 days straight.

Although I do understand the law of attraction, I have been struggling to capture my experiences in words and I am afraid this may all come out in a mosaic…

Applying The Law Of Attraction

Long before the hit movie “The Secret” came out I was a big fan of John Assaraf’s work, and I read Dr. Joe Vitale’s Book “The Attractor Factor“. As I followed John’s work throughout the years the one thing that resonated with me the most was his use of vision boards. I immediate realized how powerful this simple tool could be in my drive toward not only my fitness goals, but all goals in my life.

Throughout my University education in the field of Kinesiology, the subjects that fascinated me the most were Sport Psychology and Sport Philosophy. In these courses we learned a lot about the power of visualization and the same studies that are talked about in the movie “The Secret”. Believe me, there are countless studies out there on the power of visualization!

Visualizing my goals and experiencing the feelings and emotions of already achieving them has always come naturally to me within my sports background. But I knew that I had to give this vision board thing a try.

Exploring your beliefs

How can you be sure what you really believe in when there are so many things out there that are drawing your attention. It’s getting to the point were most of you are choosing to believe in nothing rather than believing in something. By my definition what you believe in at your very core, is why you exist. Take a moment to explore this with me, if we were to take out everything we have learned, what we should or shouldn’t believe in, and just leave it up to how we felt about something don’t you think our vibrations would raise to new heights? The very freedom you could feel and all because it is up to you how you feel about it. beliefs

I was raised Catholic, in a typical Catholic home, went to a typical Catholic grade school and none of it ever seemed right to me. I like the stories but to me that’s all they were. I knew there had to be more to all of this. Can you imagine living in a home where fire and brimstone, and heaven and hell were brought up as disciplinary actions on a constant basis, all the while knowing it just didn’t matter. It was scary enough but lets face it none of that would have changed what I was feeling. I some how knew that no matter what it was that they were going to do to me had any bearing on what I believed or who I was. It seemed to me that everything that our religion was based upon was about a higher power that was out there in the sky somewhere. Somewhere we could never even see or go to unless we gave up most of who we were. Now I ask you, if we are supposed to come here and be happy, then why do you suppose a higher power would ask us to do without, ask us to mask or be less than who we really are?

The Law Of Attraction For Weight Loss

We think about what we should do, we read about how to do it, we surf the internet for others who are doing it and we talk about it in forums looking for answers and support.

My mentor T. Harv Eker has a saying “Ready…. Fire …. Aim”

His point is to get off your ass and get doing it, then make the corrections as you go along the journey. We spend so much time learning about what to do and getting ready to do it rather than just taking action.

There is so much power in that one little decision, to do something and to do it now.

You should not let another day go by without taking action. You know what to do, and even if you don’t, or you’re not sure, get off your ass and get doing it. This may apply to just about anything. Picking up the phone to call someone that you’ve been meaning to call or asking out that girl or guy you’re interested in, or finally doing the taxes, or in this specific situation, doing something about your weight or physique.

There is so much power in making the decision to take action.

Taking action opens the doors and opens the floodgates. It’s like telling the Universe that “I’m Serious”. “I’m doing this and nothing is going to stop me”… ” even if I don’t know how this is going to happen or how it’s going to work… I trust that it will and the knowledge, information and people I require to make it work will find me”

It’s very similar in concept to what we’ve seen on “The Secret” about the Law of Attraction. Wallace D. Wattles first started talking about this concept of Attracting what you want into your life back in the early 1900’s and then Napoleon Hill wrote about it in the 1950’s in his book “Think and Grow Rich“. Now with “The Secret“, we’ve come to know the name Joe Vitale, James Ray, Jack Canfield and Bob Proctor. These men have been around for a long time using the Law of Attraction for various purposes, but mostly to improve the quality of their lives. Bob’s famous technique is using this formula. Get a small index card and write on it “I am so happy and grateful now that ….” and fill in the blank. Write a few, use both sides of the card. Write it in present tense as if it were true. Read this each morning when you wake up and each night before you go to bed, even if you don’t believe it. Read it as often as you like.. the more the better. Keep talking to yourself and telling yourself that it’s true until you KNOW it’s true.
