The Law Of Attraction For Weight Loss

RobBy Rob

We think about what we should do, we read about how to do it, we surf the internet for others who are doing it and we talk about it in forums looking for answers and support.

My mentor T. Harv Eker has a saying “Ready…. Fire …. Aim”

His point is to get off your ass and get doing it, then make the corrections as you go along the journey. We spend so much time learning about what to do and getting ready to do it rather than just taking action.

There is so much power in that one little decision, to do something and to do it now.

You should not let another day go by without taking action. You know what to do, and even if you don’t, or you’re not sure, get off your ass and get doing it. This may apply to just about anything. Picking up the phone to call someone that you’ve been meaning to call or asking out that girl or guy you’re interested in, or finally doing the taxes, or in this specific situation, doing something about your weight or physique.

There is so much power in making the decision to take action.

Johan Wolfgang Von Goethe, 1749-1832, Poet, Lawyer, Playwright said:

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness, concerning all acts of initiative (and creation). There is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can,…. begin it! Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.BEGIN NOW!

Taking action opens the doors and opens the floodgates. It’s like telling the Universe that “I’m Serious”. “I’m doing this and nothing is going to stop me”… ” even if I don’t know how this is going to happen or how it’s going to work… I trust that it will and the knowledge, information and people I require to make it work will find me”

It’s very similar in concept to what we’ve seen on “The Secret” about the Law of Attraction. Wallace D. Wattles first started talking about this concept of Attracting what you want into your life back in the early 1900’s and then Napoleon Hill wrote about it in the 1950’s in his book “Think and Grow Rich“. Now with “The Secret“, we’ve come to know the name Joe Vitale, James Ray, Jack Canfield and Bob Proctor. These men have been around for a long time using the Law of Attraction for various purposes, but mostly to improve the quality of their lives. Bob’s famous technique is using this formula. Get a small index card and write on it “I am so happy and grateful now that ….” and fill in the blank. Write a few, use both sides of the card. Write it in present tense as if it were true. Read this each morning when you wake up and each night before you go to bed, even if you don’t believe it. Read it as often as you like.. the more the better. Keep talking to yourself and telling yourself that it’s true until you KNOW it’s true.

Stupid Reasons People Die - Dr John Corso

RobBy Rob

I’ve been reading this book “Stupid Reasons People Die” by a former student of mine Dr John Corso. He’s a student of mine from a Peak Potentials Warrior Camp course that I was facilitating at last year.

Save Your Own Life?

We know that fitness and sensible diet and emotional and spiritual wellbeing are vital for good health, and this has been the cornerstone of much of my coaching and teaching at formerfatguy.com. Yet how often do we hear of active, health-conscious people dying suddenly, long before their time?

Breaking Your Fat Loss Plateau

RobBy Rob

Q: I have never been overweight until after high school. I started gaining around 20 years of age and stayed overweight til I was 25. I started working out at a women’s gym for a year, I was persistent. I lost about 30 and I have kept it off til now. I work out at a coed gym now, they took a body fat comp and my percentage body fat was 20 %. I am around 152 and my goal is 140 but i cant get beyond 150. Lately I have been trying to burn at least 1000 calories 3-5 days a week. I have hypothyroidism but luckily by working out i have increased my metabolism. I still have a lil belly I want that gone! I am 5′7 1/2 by the way. I try to eat a lot of chicken and fish for protein and I drink protein shakes every other day, mostly on the days that I lift. I lift 2-3 times a week. Now that you know my stats and stuff, could you give me some advice? I would really appreciate it! Thank you and God Bless!

Angel

A: So you’ve upped your exercise to burn an extra 1000 calories a day. Have you compensated for the 1000 calories by adding an extra 1000 calories from protein?

Add Pushups And Crunches To The 10000 Steps A Day Program

RobBy Rob

timex pedometer 10000 steps a day

I went out and bought a pedometer today. I got it from Mountain Equipment Co-op as I live just 2 blocks away. I picked up the Timex Digital Pedometer for $22 Canadian. It counts steps, calories and distance in either Km or Miles. It’s a lot smaller than I had figured it would be so that’s great.

I’m going to follow the format that I outlined in the for week 1 and track what I’m already doing first as I’m kinda curious. I KNOW that I am not as active in walking as I should be as I’m blogging and writing a lot, but I wanted to do the program just as others would.

I remember that when I started my weight loss program back in 1990 that I wanted to do push ups and crunches but could only do 5 push ups and only a few crunches. I have decided to modify the 10000 steps a day program to include daily push ups and crunches as well. Why Not? If you’re out walking, why not begin something else new as well and do some daily body weight exercises as well.

10000 Steps A Day Walking Progam

RobBy Rob

10,000 steps a day is supposed to be the required amount of walking required per day to keep healthy and fit while no other exercise is required. The program was first mentioned about 40 years ago in Japan and supposedly was not based on any research, but just a number they came up with. Now it’s being promoted by many health professionals as a way to combat obesity, improve weight loss and heart health.

There is no question that walking is good for you and my earlier research showed that walking can be more beneficial than running. The idea was that our ancestor’s bodies developed a method of efficiency to use stored fuel (fat) before it used glycogen (quick fuel). It takes a long time to evolve, so there’s no reason to think that anything has changed over the past thousands of years.

My sister told me about the 10000 steps a day program just the other day. She’s a doctor working with immigration Canada and works overseas. She’s been in Vienna Austria for the past 4 years and just got a new position in Singapore. She was in Canada for a few business meetings and flew into Edmonton yesterday to visit while making her way back east and then on to Vienna.

I began my walking program at 375 pounds and walked 20 minutes a day or twice a day. I incorporated ankle weights, starting with 1 pound and then worked up to 2.5 pounds on each ankle and even started using 5 pound dumbbells as I walked my route. I walked rain or shine and one day I came back from my route during a -40 degree Celsius (-40 Fahrenheit) and my neighbor said “nothing stops you from your walk, does it?” Read the rest of this entry »
