Lucie.. never compare yourself to others.

You've achieved something to be VERY proud about, and should honor yourself with congratulations.

There is a long way to go... but not the way you think. You have about 60 more years to sculpt that body of yours on a daily basis, so better get ready for a LOT of work yet.

it never ends. Health is about taking care of your body daily. Right now you're in fat loss mode, followed by muscle building and sculpting mode which will last for years and years and never really end actually.. so.. honor your success. Celebrate it. Share it.. Tell the world about it and keep on truckin!!

Great pic too.

Very few people on this planet can take a picture every 100 pounds they drop, lol. Those are keepers!

um, non, lets bet the next 100 is just as easy and for that matter easier.

no matter what you think, you get, so think and believe it will be easy.

It will anyway. Your weight training now. As you drop more fat, your get more fit. As you get more fit, and more muscular, your burn more fat, accelerating the whole process. You get more active, you climb more mountains and it drops off faster and faster.

how about this.. how about we BELIEVE the next 100 will go faster.

Are you in?

I have a friend. He's rather large. He's happy with where he's at and has never done anything about his weight.

one time I checked in on him and he had dropped 30 pounds. I asked "what did you do?" because I'm always curious.

his reply:

"I decided that it was easy to lose weight"

That was it. Just how he looked at it.

Carole said :

NEVER eat proteins from 2 different source at a same meal. That is interesting, so the bacon and eggs, chicken and eggs in a salad, or mayo with salmon, tuna or eggs is a no-no :?: Wow! Just curious Dear do you take vitamins or supplements? Your recent photos are amaxing..... I'm so happy for you love Carle

Carole, I'm taking no supplement or vitamins and so far, all my weekly tests are perfect. I do take one gelcap of natual fishoil daily. I did it for years and I just choose not to stop ...lol I'm taking Isodis Natura.

As for fibers ? I get them in cereals (shredded wheat and bran...Wheetabix...Fibres 1... I also have them in rye crackers FinnCrips, multigrain or original and in Triscuits crackers, the ones with 60% less sodium. Of course, I also have plenty of fibers in green veggie...and some in nuts too.

And no, I never eat eggs with meat or cheese. If I have eggs, I have them with veggies (I DO sprinkle a few fresh parmesan on them though...lol no one is perfect)...If I have cheese in a salad, it is only with veggies...and I cannot believe you do not like a good chicken breast ? wow... I cook mine (10 a week, boneless, skinless) , in a pressure cooker with herbs, carrots, cauliflowers, onions, garlic, tomatoes, black pepper, more herbs, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice.... I cook them for 12 minutes and then, my fridge is filled with delicious ready-to-eat healthy chicken...I will use it like this, re-heated, with veggies...or I'll have it sliced on a salad...or I'll put it in the processor with more cauliflower, garlic, green onions and aspargus...a dash of fresh tomatoe paste and black pepper...and I'll make a puree, which I'll eat on a cracker (or 5 !!!) or on an endive...or in a bellpepper (stuffed)...or on a zucchini (roasted).... You should try it :)

Carole ! An italian cook at home ! Wow...I envy you!!! Listen...Ask him for a special brushettas delivery...have him grill some thin slices of multigrain bread brushed with a little olive oil and top them with diced tomatoes, garlic and black olives and sprinkle with a few pearls of Bocconccinni...under the grill for 4 minutes...a green salad on the side (with roasted aspargus, cucumbers, peppers oil and balsamic vinegar...) and enjoy !

Or...

Ask him to bake multigrain pastas, then cool them. Roast some raw almonds (on a baking sheet, 200 degrees, 10 minutes or less, shaking the pan once in a while 'til crispy)...Crush the cooled almonds in the processor very quickly ( to have big chunks) and toss them in the cooled pastas, with a handful of dry cranberries and a handful of thinely sliced green onions and capers. Add a little oil...balsamic vinegar, black pepper. Cool the sald for 30 minutes at least and...enjoy ! it is delicious and you can make a big batch and keep it in the fridge for up to 5 days. Eat it with a green salad or better...a baby spinach salad with a couple slices of almonds and a raspberry vinegar dressing.... The addition of nuts in pastas and the "multigrain" pastas will reduce the glycemic content and impact of pastas.

And...
A medium sized zuchinni, cut in half lenghtwise, the interior scooped out, fill them with diced colored peppers, tuna, diced tomatoes, green onions, cauliflower and freshly grated parmesan (just a bit!), herbs and black pepper...on a baking sheet, under broil for 5 minutes....and eat them !

I promise you you'll LOVE tuna this way. You can also replace tuna with beans...I use a mix of different beans, canned in water.

I am here to help anad support...ask when you need. I can also be jut a good listener friend :) :)
Have a wonderful day!

my thoughts on this:

starchy carb (the bread) with fat. Not a real good idea during the weight loss phase.

during maintenance: sure.

I personally would want to have a VERY high metabolism to burn this up asap if I was going to eat it.

just my 2 cents.

I'm going to set an intention that we submit at least 1 new healthy recipe into the recipe section per week. I'll write a sticky about that in the recipe section. See how you girls get me reading first thing every morning while I sip my Calli tea before the gym? This is awesome.. I love you guys!

Rob...What I've suggested to Carole were some ideas to bring better food to her rom since she said she likes no veggies oand she loves only chicken wings...I know we should all aim for perfection, but between perfection and reality, there is plenty of space for other food. I DO no eat bread or pastas, but I know how hard this can be on certan people, especailly when married to an italian, so I just shared with her a few tricks to make these foods less domageable for her. I do agree with your comment though, but some persons start their journey to healthier food from farther then others, and the in-between is a nice transition, bringing you closer to full understanding of your winning combination.

I love to know you read our words frst thing in the mornng...this is what makes this community of yours so very special. Our own human microcosm I love being a part of it !
:)

Some day, I'd like to write a post on how to deal with a husband and 2 kids and healthy food choices. I can modestly say I've become pretty good at it over the past months. There was NO WAY we would have different menus at meal time...so we found a very fun way to deal with my journey...and theirs, a bit different (they do not need to lose weight, but they DO need the healthy food!!!)

Lucie :)
