first - there is nothing on the page you link to about a banana diet.

second - this type of diet is extremely unhealthy. Most experts in nutrition say you need a variety of fresh foods to maintain health. Your body needs nutrients of all kinds and one food alone cannot provide a miracle cure for health or weight loss.

thirdly - you need to make 20 posts on this forum as an active participant before posting any links. I am removing your link for this reason. Please note the rules of this forum.

First,I have not tried this diet. But my friend did. She lost some kilos for a short period of time. She is ok now and looks great.
Second, I have mentioned that this diet is VERY strict, that is why it is better to consult a doctor before using it.
Third, it is not a well-balanced diet that is why the duration of it is so short. (my friend is just continue eating, of course, healthy food, and is not gaining weight again).

Bananas are really rich in carbohydrates (that’s why they are rather nutritious) and almost deprived of cellulose (powerful stimulator of intestine activity). Nevertheless, the banana diet is widely used: for adiposity treatment, insufficiency of blood circulation, hypertonic illness, diseases of liver and biliary tracts.
Caloric content of such diet is 1335,0 kcal. Thus in your stomach gets 327,0 g carbohydrates, 22,5 g fibers and 1,5 g fats. You can drink water (mineral, without gas) and green tea without sugar.

Interesting.

I highly recommend against eating banana's actually due to the amount of mucous they create in the body. Notice how you start to cough after eating them? that's mucous

eating any fruit diet will drop pounds. You've eliminated tons of fat and reduced any need for digestion by the body. All that former digestive power would go into cleaning of the body. The colon would have tons of waste removed and ya, you'd drop pounds. You'd drop pounds just from removing food mass in the body.

I moved this topic out of Recipes to Nutrition as it has nothing to do with recipes

Everybody criticized the diet.
Is this diet also bad from the point of view of experts in nutrition?

Banana and milk diet which eases the transition from a strict dieting to the normal nutrition.
You should eat 2 bananas and drink 2 glasses of milk for 2 running days. :jogging

milk - some of us here have VERY strong feelings against eating ANY dairy foods.

- highly acid forming in the body
- leach calcium from bones to neutralize acid
- highly mucus forming
- full of toxins like hormones, steroids, cow diseases, other drugs
- is a "dead" food devoid of enzymes cause of pasteurization

I've heard that whole milk, direct from one cow (organic) unpasteurized is the perfect food. But that doesn't exist in this world any more.

that's my opinion anyway
