Cleansing can bring on strange symptoms and we can experience very odd things for sure. I mentioned this on the phone and I wanted to point it out to the readers.
This story I'm about to relate I've told many many times and when I'm speaking to large groups and mention it, I get about 2 or 3 hands go up relating to my experience, so I know I'm not alone.
when I had my first cup of Calli, I swear that I got stoned.
I had been smoking hash and marijauana for a bunch of years and at one point was smoking 30 joints a day. (I mention this on the 3rd page of my weight loss story).
What I believe happened with that first cup was that it pulled the THC out of the cells of my mouth and I got high right then and there. I've heard farmers say that their first cup of calli tastes like hay or barley, others say it tastes like metal or metallic and others say it reminds them of prescription drugs. All of this "odd flavors" go away after a week or so as their bodies cleanse the shit out and then it just tastes like tea, normal traditional tea.
As I went on, and over the next few months and years, I began to remember things from grade 7... people, places, classmates and the craziest part was that I began to take on the habits I had in grade 7. I had two very distinctive "tics" or habits. My thought was that these memories and habits were stored in my cells as hormonal or chemical messages and as I cleaned them out, I re-experienced them.
Something really strange happened today. I was sitting in the pedicure chair with my feet in the bubbling water and as I started to relax I started to have 'flashbacks' to my Grandmother. I think it had to do with your blog about your mother's life, my Mom going to see my grandmother who turned 96 and my recent return to BC. I could see her house. The blackberry bushes, the trees, the gravel back road , the swing, the wooden stairs, the old house that was over a 80 years old and this was back from the 70's. I hadn't thought about it for so long and it was crystal clear in my mind! Whoa~
you may or may not experience this yourself.. I just wanted to share what happened with me. I love seeing the body go through it's changes when good food is added into our diet.
and ya, like I said, when I tell this story, a few hands go up relating to "getting stoned" on that first cup of Calli.
You're doing well, keep it up... it's short, to the point and then you can move on and add the foods you like back into your diet.
