Does anybody know the effect of caffeine on weight loss?

Atkins, Fit for Life, Jenny Craig, LA Weight Loss, Weight Watchers – there are almost as many weight loss programs as people who want to lose weight! Sharing our experiences here will help us all get a handle on the wealth of information — and misinformation — out there.

Does anybody know the effect of caffeine on weight loss?

Postby wolfgang on Thu May 15, 2008 7:34 pm

Hi everyone,

I need a little help here :D

I'm on a weight loss "mission" at the moment as I like to loose more than 15 pounds over the next following weeks.

It's not that I don't know how to do it (I did it once and am pretty confident to do it again, but this time will keep it down  )

Last time I did a pretty rough diet and a lot of more or less exhausting exercise.

I now want to do it in a more relaxed and unstressed way and consider to intake some dietary supplements.

A friend told me that caffeine should definitely help to lose weight. I like to hear more opinions about that as I'm not a coffee drinker and can not really explain myself how caffeine should support me (I think it's more the opposite).

Any suggestions about dietary supplement products or whatsoever are welcome.

cheers,
wolfgang :D

I don't think coffee is good for you in any stretch of the imagination. It is acid forming in the body, and too much acid that choose not to be processed by the liver gets stored as fat. So the more acid you take in, the more fat your body keeps to store it. I choose not to see how that will help you lose weight.

I can only suggest that if you want to lose weight and keep it off -the ONLY way to do it is change your lifestyle. Diets, pills, supplements - all do not work to create health. A healthy body will go to it's natural weight by itself. Eat more leafy greens (like size of 2 large salads daily), eat more beans, lentils (get more fiber), eat more fresh WHOLE veggies and fruit, eat less or no dairy foods, red meat, sugar, table salt, processed foods (anything in a box or can).

and get more exercise

it isn't hard but it isn't a quick fix either.

Caffeine will not be good for your weight loss. It will make you unable to sleep, and the less you sleep, the more stress your body will get. This will affected your total health.
