A Glimpse at my background:
I have been over weight since i was a kid (8). I have constantly gained weight over the past 14 years. As a Freshman in High School i weighed 315 lbs and now i am at age 22 i weigh a whopping 405 lbs.
What i have Tired:
I have tried many attempts at loosing weight and getting healthier and have not necessarily failed but given up. I have tired exercising to weight loss pills and foods. I once was one a great path of loosing weight about 2 years ago just before i met my fiancee, I was working out 5 times a week and eating great i went from 350 lbs to 312 in 4 months and it felt great! I Injured my wrist lifting weights about 2 weeks before i met my fiancee and well its all been down hill from there. As we got my comfortable with each other both of us began to put on some pounds. In the past 2 years we have been together i went from about 315 to now 405.
Whats different this time:
Well it was all fired by a visit to my doctors. I have always told myself that i would never be over 400 lbs, but when i got to the doctors and weighed in what i read was absolutely devastating, i weighed 405lbs!! After the nurse left me to wait for the doctor i cried till the doctor arrived, he then added to the weight by saying he was concerned that if i kept this pace that i would have already lived over 1/2 my life. I had to tell my family what was going on, everyone expressed their concerns some even doubting the scale saying i do not look like i weigh that much. After this scare i started to think about other things in my life such as i am get married in 29 more days and well we plan on one day having kids and well i want to live to see them graduate and all those other things!
What am i going to do about it:
I am going to Eat better, and by that i mean stick to my new way of eating. I have read Robs new posts about Hormonally correct eating and i think that i am going to take that route for now until i find some thing better! I have actually been doing the first 7 day phase for the past 3 days now and have noticed a difference already, like i am not as tired anymore and i have noticed my stomach starting to get smaller,i know it may seem like a lot to notice in 3 days but its true!)
I am going to use Biking as a form of exercise as i know that i enjoy it and i will soon have a biking partner, possibly two who can help hold me accountable! I plan to exercise at least 2 days a week for at least an hour at a time.
What are my Goals:
- Weigh 250 lbs (Yeah its possible to be healthy at 250!!)
- In the next two years make my dream of doing a triathlon complete!
- Have a healthier state of mind about myself
- Make my family and everyone else i know, including you "guys" proud of me!
- Be an inspiration to others going through the same thing I am!
I think thats about it for now.. I will keep updating this based on my progress!!!
Thanks!
Anthony
