When done the 28 day span, I am going to do the 90/10 rule. 90% of the time, I will eat healthy and clean. 10% I will eat what ever I want...and I will not think if it as cheating as it is a part of the plan. So I eat 5 times a day so that leaves me 3 to 4 meals a week to eat whatever I want (within reason...I don't think it is good to eat a large pizza and 4L of ice cream!).

FN is right. Eating certain foods is not a failure if it is part of your plan. So why not make it a part of your plan? Give yourself a decided amount of meals each week that you can eat whatever you want.

Sorry, my mind set is on totally clean eating right now...so that is the perspective I gave advice from. I really like what FN has to say...so do what resonates with you. :)

I have a couple things to add

Michele - when I started Sunrider in the first couple months I too noticed I handled stressful situations better and didn't flip out as easily. Or if I did - I got back to calm much faster than I would have in the past. I also found that I was better able to think and make clear decisions.

It's called higher mental clarity and the Suncare has a lot to do with that - keep using it and you'll see more changes!

I too follow the 90/10 rule. I know coffees not good for me - but do I have one once in a while - yeah. I know wine's highly acidic in my body - I still like it and have some now and then. Moderation is the key and not doing it every day, meal in and meal out.

So this is Day 15. I have made a realization. Binding myself in chains doesn't work for me. Saturday morning, I looked at my breakfast (that I have basically eaten for the last 2 weeks) and had to force myself to eat it. I knew from that feeling that I had to give myself a break from my self-imposed chains. I needed to allow myself one meal where I could eat anything I wanted. I have eaten totally clean for almost 2 weeks - denying myself every craving or possible treat. I knew if I didn't give myself some slack, I was going to eat my way into oblivion.

So Saturday night, I ate what I wanted. As predicted, it gave me the focus I needed to continue on for the next 2 weeks when my goal is reached - the completion of my commitment to this cleanse. I will definitely keep my eating habits but I won't be so stringent - some cheat meals will be allowed. :)

Nothing is really new with the cleanse from what I have shared earlier. I like feeling calmer though... :) :jumping

Cheat Meals

Postby Rob on Tue Aug 28, 2007 6:00 pm

So here's a small snippet of something I'm going to write about.. Cheating on your diet.

Cheating seems to have a negative impact psychologically, but that's because WE do that to ourselves. It's the energy that we put into the food that does us more harm than the food itself does. Eating off our diet, doubling our food, throwing our body into a state of "what the fuck was that you just ate?" actually does us a lot of good.

how? it shows our body that there is no lack of food and sparks our metabolism and resets our hormones telling our body that we do in fact have an abundance of food and to go ahead and STOP STORING FAT. If we diet, or cut our calories, our body slows down our metabolism, makes us moody and depressed, low energy, tired (recognize any of those?)

so use this knowledge to your advantage and build it into your program. CHEAT.. I'm telling you to, I do it. I do it on purpose!

in fact, I encourage it.. Have an entire day every week where you get to eat anything you want. If you like build it into your program where you have an entire day one day a week and then one meal somewhere in the middle as well.

you are REQUIRED to do this. you HAVE to do this in order for your program to work.

there are a lot of hormonal reasons for this and in fact, as you can read in the program I tweaked for Anthony, I told him to circle two days a month where he has to eat TWICE as much.

believe me, this is a positive thing.

imagine HAVING to have buttered popcorn or chocolate or pizza once a week, or anything that you want.. you look forward to it, you plan it, and you work it into your schedule as a positive required factor of your weight loss program (ie: diet).

This builds positive emotions around it.

This makes it a positive part of your life. You're PROUD when you're eating your pizza or your buttered popcorn or in my case Sushi, donairs or my favorite buffet.

Don't cheat.. fuck that. Stand Tall and proud that you're walking everyday, weight training and HAVE to have a beer twice a week.

do you see how that one simple outlook on your program makes all the difference.

New project: Find and list your favorite forbidden foods that you think you're cheating with and list them in a new post (not here, this is Michele's Candida Cleanse Thread).

Create a new thread / topic in the On Topic section called "Use Cheat Meals To Your Advantage - Be Proud". You.. the next reader.. take action and do this

then, list the forbidden foods and a plan of action of WHEN exactly you WILL do this and eat this food during the week. Pick 2 days out of the seven and schedule them in.

Then just think about this.. to prepare yourself for this, crank up your metabolism, your bodies engine so that it can deal with the food.. go for a 30 minute walk right before, or do your workout 2 hours before you have this Positive Junk Food Meal. It's most likely not junk food anyway, but the emotions that you're creating around it certainly aren't doing you any good.

Also, submit your "Positive Junk Food Meal" name for the draw. We'll vote on what to call this meal that will help you win the race and get to your goal weight.

Lets make this fun.

should have a positive spin,
might be funny,
should describe the reason for ti
might spell out a really funny or cool (or positive) acronym

get to work. I'm willing to bet that Blush is the first one to create the thread in the On Topic section

Okay - so here I go on this path. I started it yesterday and haven't noticed a lot happening yet except:

- was itchy, like crazy itchy last night and Rob says "oh did I forget to mention that part" ha ha very funny!

- at one point I smelled a men's cologne and asked Rob but he wasn't wearing any. Interesting - you had chocolate, me men!

- felt like SHIT for a while early yesterday but hadn't eaten anything except a Sunbar. I had 2 NuPlus and some Fortune and then I felt better.

- today - green poo! lovely!
