Michele's Candida Loss Story

Postby Michele on Fri Aug 10, 2007 11:09 am

I have decided to do a Candida cleanse suggested by Rob starting Monday, Aug 13th. The guidelines are for 28 days (or longer but I am committing to 28 days):

No fruit
No alcohol
No bread
No yeast
No mushrooms
No sugar
and I am going to add little to no processed foods

Eat a very plain diet of veggies, brown rice or millet, oatmeal and protein like chicken or fish. And consume Udo's oil every day.

The first 5 of the 28 days I eat a lot of Sunrider whole food products. One of these products (Vita Dophilus) will help support my colon where Candida lives. Then I eat my normal Sunrider for the rest of the 28 days.

My exercise will be walking for at least 30 min every day. I want my body to focus on cleansing and not building muscle or burning fat.

I will give updates to changes (if any) I see in my body...I have been told that doing a Candida cleanse may cause some of the following: mood swings, mucus in my stool, vaginal discharge, dry itchy skin and eyes, flu like symptons, runny nose, diareah.

Michele

I'm right with you. I ended up with a yeast infection last week so I said fuck it and ordered all the stuff to do it. I'm starting Monday though, I didn't want to mess up my body before my race. I don't want to be in the middle of 10k and have a "cleansing response" LOL.

the no sugar will be the hardest - everything has a bit of it so it means

- no yogurt
- no granola
- no condiments of any kind from a jar

I have no problem with no added sugar, but I have granola and youghurt daily - I'll switch to hot cereal with stevia

candida is too much yeast in the body - the bad kind.

it causes all sorts of problems and I'd say 80-90% of most people have it and don't know.

I think Rob has something on his site about it somewhere - or try googling it.

Well, it is 1:38pm on my second day of the cleanse and I feel good. Slightly dizzy and I went to bed early last night and slept in a bit this moring. I have been eating a totally clean diet. It really has not been that hard - I am guessing because my focus is on health.

well done!

I have a fridge full of fruit I don't want to waste, so I'll start after I eat all that. that will be hardest for me - I eat a lot of fruit.

I think the diet is the most challenging aspect of any program. I know it is for me.

You dont want easy though...do you Michele?
Easy doesnt make you grow...easy doesnt make you think....

Stick with it, the result of your cleanse will only benefit.
Don't push yourself to the limits...Push yourself past them

Thanks for all of the encouragement. :D

If you are eating or have a queezy stomach, you might not want to read any further. Consider yourself warned. :)

Well I think I jinx myself with yesterday's thread comment. I started to have a headache yesterday afternoon. It turned into a full blown bad headache around bed time (but not a migraine). It was a weird headache though. The one side of my nose hurt (I believe that is where my sinuses are) as well as my forehead. I had a hard time getting to sleep but I did. I also didn't take any meds to get rid of the headache. I thought it best to just ride it through.

This morning when I used the bathroom, I had major vaginal discharge. If you are a woman and have had a yeast infection before, you know what I mean. But there is no itchiness or anything...

I still have a headache but it is not as bad as last night. I have stuck to my commitment and eaten totally clean. I didn't go for my walk this morning but I will this evening if my headache doesn't get too bad.

I am beginning Day 4 on my Candida cleanse.

My throat glands have been swollen in the morning. My throat is not sore but I can feel the glands are swollen. I woke up with an ear ache (I had those a lot as a child). I still have a mild headache. The vaginal discharge is still happening. Ummm...what else...oh, I have been feeling moody and anti-social lately. Sometimes I like to be on my own and just read books etc with a warm cup of tea. My boyfriend and I try to take every third weekend off of travelling to see each other so we can get stuff done around our houses and save money on gas (it is a 2.5 hour drive to see each other). So this weekend is the weekend off of seeing each other. I plan on spending it reading and relaxing.

I'll keep you updated. :)

EDIT: I forgot the mention the mild diareaha (sp?). Also, something funny happened last night. I was opening the bag of cat food and I swear I got a whiff of chocolate! There is no chocolate in my house! I quickly fed the cats and put the cat food away! ha ha
