Good or bad diet?

Postby chip douglas on Sat Mar 21, 2009 1:34 pm

My BMR is 2150 , If i eat 1500, and burn 2500 riding bike every day, how much wieght would i loose every week?Is this a good diet, or should i eat more, and excercise less?I dont feel burned out at all. Most of the time i find it hard to eat even 1500 calories a day, because i only eat healthy foods like chicken, turkey, fish, and veggies.I only drink spring water, except for my morning cup of coffee (black,no sugar).Ive been on this diet for 3 weeksand lost 12 lbs,but have been eating on average only 1000 Calories, and i think its slowing my metabolism down.I know i need to eat more.

As you build more muscle you will need more calories. You don't want you body to go into starvation mode. Lean proteins are best. Fish, chicken etc. 1000 is probably not enough.

Chip - yes you are likely slowing it way down. What is your current weight?

it is true you need to burn more than you intake, but not that extreme. You also burn more after you get off the bike too and just daily activities burn calories too. You might need to be eating closer to 2000/day.

question for you - what sort of foods do you eat to get your good fats? avocados? nuts or nut butters? coconut oil? fish?

another question is - how much water do you drink daily? 3-4 liters? 12-15 8oz glasses?

do you eat dairy foods?
