Rob, I’m looking closely at LED lighting here too. Still a little pricey, but a lot less power hungry.

As for the worm bin, try to keep it close to the kitchen.

The anti-CFL lobbyists are going the whole hog to discredit the energy saving bulbs on the grounds that they conyain tiny drops of mercury, conveniently over looking the urgent necessity for reducing Global Warming. now it’s just the logistics about where to put the worm bin in our house.
3 Jason March 31, 2008 at 12:25 pm: That was much less alarmist than just about every posting on Mercury and CFLs. Some of the loudest cries seem to come from sellers of overpriced LED bulbs. One good source of info on LED bulbs that doesn’t try to scare you into buying is http://www.DonsGreenStore.com , and they have very reasonable prices ( for LEDs ) .
