I'm trying the low-carb route. I've cut the skim milk, oatmeal, and berries out of the shake. Now I just blend 2 scoops chocolate whey powder (GNC Pro 100% Whey, Isolate, 5g carbs per serving) with water and ice cubes. Brings the shake down from 60g carbs (including simple sugars) to about 10 carbs. But I definitely need to eat sooner again (usually a serving of cottage cheese with a scoop of chocolate whey and cinnamon mixed in about 1.5hrs later), since it doesn't hold me over as long.

Every day I blend a scoop and a half of whey (30g protein), two scoops of plain/unflavored uncooked oatmeal, a cup of skim milk, ice cubes, and blueberries. Blend for 30-40 seconds. Thick, cold, refreshing, and extremely delicious and healthy.

Nico, I couldn't agree more.

First thing in the morning, it's pure clean water for me - and me too, it's like recharging the batteries.

However, after that - then what? if it's a liquid breakfast, what do you choose?

Normally I don't drink any juices in the morning... If I do drink something it's always water, right before I eat something.

For some reason I think water is the most "refreshing" in the morning on an empty stomach. It feels like you're charging your batteries and you're ready for a new day.

Most of the time though, just a bowl of oatmeal will do as well. Has plenty of water in that dish as well.

Hi! I love Green Smoothies for breakfast and have a number of my recipes posted on my blog at www.KristensRaw.blogspot.com.

Today, I had kale, pineapple, and lemon juice.

Tomorrow, I'll have parsley, chia seeds, frozen bananas, and maybe some raw chocolate and hemp protein powder.

Cheers!
