I feel like there's a lot more important things to worry about. Water is the most plentiful resource on earth. I know it's salty, but the clouds will always suck it up and rain it down on us (salt free). I don’t know much about the subject, but isn’t water recycled? I'll explain more in other parts of the series but first, a quick question for you - is it raining there just as much (and at the same times) as it was 10 years ago? If it is, you're extremely lucky.
