He was also president of the Legion in Melfort Saskatchewan for a number of years in his later years, so I got to have another appreciation again for vets and this day, Nov 11th. I know full well the moment I "woke up" to what was is all about. It was the moment I watched "Saving Private Ryan". That movie brought it all home for me and I began to understand. I too have watched Band of Brothers. About 10 times or more in fact. I feel a real connection to war. I have always loved the technology of it and never war for the sake of war. Band of Brothers makes me feel like I was there, and in many ways, I believe I was. I'm sure I was in Europe during the war in a past life, as you and I have talked about this in the past. Since watching Saving Private Ryan, Remembrance day has a whole new meaning for me. Thanks for the great post today.
