Hi Scott,
thanks for the reply. I plan on staying healthy for life. this is not some fad or temporary thing. I am training my mind and body to live this way for the rest of my life. it has to become a lifestyle.

Israel, thanks for your comment.

I do however think that you have me (Scott-guest writer), confused with Rob Cooper the incredible man behind this blog and the true incredible transformation guy.

I myself have been lean pretty much all my life other than 3 times...

1) After our Honeymoon - all you can eat is a big mistake ;)

2) The 6 months leading into closing my health club. After 4 years of 16 hour days minimum and the stress of running the business I packed on 20 pounds of fat.

3) Ironically 1 year ago when I was writing my two books "The Fit Chic" and "The Fit Bastard", I had a strict deadline and because of the serious lack of sleep I lived off of Rock Star caffeinated drink and Snickers bars.

Definitely not a good role model there, but it was a learning lesson of balance. I can tell in the videos that I shot 1 year ago that my arms were much smoother because of the extra weight that I gained.

Other than that the incredibly active lifestyle combined with my love for healthy nutrient rich foods, proper sleep, mental conditioning and such has kept me pretty darn lean.

What are your powerful and worthy goals that you have set for yourself Israel for this successful transformation that you are embarking on?

Scott, awesome post. I spent about 6 weeks of 2006 climbing mountains every day and then ended the whole thing with a summit of Kilimanjaro in October. I hadn't been in a gym for months.

I also enjoy hiking and backpacking. In 2004 I did the West Coast Trail and noted that I dropped 2% bodyfat during that experience.

when people tell me they can't afford a gym so they can't workout, I just say "walk out your door" and you're in nature's gym.

Be well my friend.

I'm going to enjoy reading your posts as the months go by. Thanks for being a regular author for this blog.
